Anne Banks

Anne is the Chief Financial Officer for Newquay Town Council and has been in post since 2021. She is responsible for overseeing the Council’s financial management, budget planning, and long-term financial sustainability, ensuring that public funds are managed responsibly.

Anne has worked in local government finance at senior management level since 2001, bringing extensive experience in financial governance, strategic planning, and supporting elected members in complex decision-making. She enjoys working with people and works closely with councillors and staff to support informed decisions that align with the corporate plan and community priorities.

In her role, Anne strives to be transparent, fair, and objective, and is particularly committed to making financial information clear and accessible to non-finance audiences. She believes strong financial management is built on openness, trust, and collaboration.

Outside of work, Anne enjoys walking with her dog and spending time with her family.
