Steve Facer

Stephen is the Director of Resources and joined the Council in February 2026. Stephen has worked in local government since 2001 across a range of posts and has extensive experience of projects, events, policy development and committee work supporting elected members deliver priorities for the community they serve and represent. Stephen has been both a Deputy Chief Executive and Town Clerk at the town council level and brings a wealth of experience to this role. He deputises for the Chief Executive in his absence and has oversight of the Library and Visitor Information Centre, Events and the Democratic Service ensuring good governance and high standards of performance putting into action the strategic and policy decisions of the council into operational delivery for the services he has responsibility for. In his spare time Stephen enjoys playing football, and spending time with his family, walking coast paths and exploring our great county. When possible he likes travelling further afield to explore Greek islands.
