At Newquay Town Council, we want everyone to be able to use our website with ease—regardless of their device, abilities or assistive technologies. We are committed to ensuring that the information we publish is clear, usable and reaches all members of our community.

Our aim is to make the site as accessible as possible by following recognised accessibility standards and good practice. While we continually work to improve the accessibility and usability of our website, we recognise that there may still be some areas that can be enhanced. Newquay Town Council – Accessibility Statement

Newquay Town Council is committed to ensuring our website can be used by as many people as possible. We want our digital services to be clear, functional, and accessible, so that residents, visitors and businesses can fully engage with the information and services we provide.

Our Accessibility Commitment

We have designed our website with the aim of meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard wherever reasonably possible.

However, our site has not yet undergone a formal accessibility audit, so we may not be fully compliant in all areas.
We aim to ensure that users can:

  • navigate the website using a keyboard
  • use screen readers and assistive technologies
  • resize text without loss of content

  • access clear content with appropriate structure

Because the website has not yet been independently tested, we classify our site as:
