Directors

Newquay Council’s directors include key leaders responsible for the various services and departments of the Town Council. The council’s leadership team is structured to support the Council’s efficient and effective operations and covers areas such as Operations (buildings, open spaces, CCTV, play areas, car parks, event spaces and toilets), Resources (front facing and administrative services, Library, Visit Newquay, Events, Partnership and Projects, Grant Funding, Democratic Services including meeting administration and advice), Finance (billing, payroll, budgeting, compliance, audit, HR, IT and financial planning) and the Chief Executive (oversees the entire Council operations, head of paid service, strategic planning and chief council advisory function).

This structure ensures that Newquay Council effectively addresses the diverse needs of its residents while promoting the Town, delivery of key local services, safety initiatives/CCTV and improving the look and feel of Newquay for residents and visitors.

The Council has recent started an internal transformation programme, changing the culture and the way the Council operates, empowering Directors to become responsible for operational decision making and delivery of the Corporate Plan, with committees and Full Council now operating more like a non-executive director function, responsible for setting the Strategic direction, policy and more of a scrutiny role.
