Andy Curtis

Andy is the Chief Executive of Newquay Town Council and has been in post since November 2011, having joined the Council in October 2010. As Head of Paid Service, he has overall responsibility for the Council’s paid establishment and for the effective leadership, management and operation of the organisation.

In his role, Andy provides professional and legal advice to the Council and its committees, supporting elected members in shaping the strategic direction of the Council and developing robust, deliverable policies. He is responsible for translating those policies into effective operational procedures, overseeing day-to-day service delivery, and ensuring the Council’s activities are efficient, lawful and aligned with agreed priorities.

Andy also has overall responsibility for performance management across the organisation, including monitoring key performance indicators and ensuring the effectiveness and continuous improvement of officers and services. He works closely with councillors and senior staff to promote good governance, accountability and high standards of decision-making.

Andy values openness, collaboration and clear communication, and is committed to supporting members to make informed decisions that deliver positive outcomes for the community.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, Kayaking and keeping active.
