Newquay Town Council Car Parks

Newquay Town Council currently owns two public car parks, one at the Gannel and another at South Fistral, as well as two private car parks, on at the Municipal Offices on Marcus Hill and another at the Mount Wise Centre.

South Fistral Car Park - Pentire Road, Newquay, TR7 1QS

These locations are all under a Parking Order, which Newquay Town Council outsources the management of to Cornwall Council, who further ensure the car parks are used for their intended purposes and act where required.

In some instances Cornwall Council may issue Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN) on behalf of Newquay Town Council.

Please note, Newquay Town Council operates an ‘exemption scheme’ in line with the National Blue Badge Scheme. Cornwall Council are the authority who manage the scheme throughout Cornwall.

Parking Charges

*For cars only. Permits can only be purchased via the Visit Newquay Tourist Information Centre, Marcus Hill, Newquay, TR7 1AF (01637 878388 – Option 2). Permits cannot be paid at the pay and display. This ticket does not guarantee you a space. It isn’t a rover ticket and can only be used in this car park.

Annual Pass Tariff: £337.50 annual for first permit, £450 annual for second and subsequent permits per household or business.

Disabled Parking

Blue badge holders must pay the normal parking fee unless:

  • The vehicle is registered under Cornwall Council’s exemption scheme
    or
  • The vehicle is specially adapted for a disabled person
    All blue badge holders must display a valid blue badge with time clock set at time of arrival.

Blue badge holders paying a parking fee in a Pay and Display car park automatically get one extra hour of free parking. For example, if you correctly display a blue badge and pay for 2 hours, you can park for 3 hours.

Permit Information

Pre-Paid Weekly or Yearly Tickets

  • The weekly or yearly car park ticket can only be used in South Fistral Car Park.
  • The weekly or yearly car park ticket does not guarantee a parking place at South Fistral Car Park or give the ticket holder any priority over any other users of the South Fistral Car Park.
  • The weekly or yearly car park ticket is only valid for the car registration written on the ticket and that car registration must be the same as on the original, completed, form when buying a ticket.
  • The car registration cannot be changed on the weekly or yearly car park ticket and will become invalid if it does not match the original details provided. Please contact Newquay Town Council in the case of vehicle changes or any other reasons the car registration may need changing during the valid period of the ticket.
  • The car park ticket holder is liable for charges incurred if the car park ticket is not displayed correctly, defaced or otherwise unable to be seen by those who check the validity of car park tickets.
  • Weekly car park tickets are non-refundable for any unused days. Yearly car park tickets are normally non-refundable for unused time.
  • Loss of the weekly or yearly car park ticket that in turn require replacement, may involve an additional charge.
  • Weekly or yearly tickets are issued at the discretion of Newquay Town Council and it reserves the right to withdraw the validity for any weekly, or yearly, ticket holder.
